MoH and Bill Melinda Gates Foundation Opens A Digital Health Innovation and Research Lab
Ministry of Health and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation built and launched digital Health Innovation and Research Lab inside Saint Peter Specialized Hospital that aims to serve as center of excellence to ensure modern clinical data management.
According to Dr Lia, Minister of Heath the lab creates an opportunity to promote patient-centered healthcare software development activities facilitate practical trainings for professionals engaged in area.
Two More Directives from Ethiopian Communication Authority
The Ethiopian Communications Authority has issued two additional directives for stakeholders consultation. The directives named as “The Telecommunications Interconnection Directive’ and “The Telecommunications Infrastructure Sharing and Collocation Directive”were releases last week.
Stakeholders are expected to provide feedback on the directives through ECA email address( [email protected] ). The directives can be found here.
Lion International Bank Partners With Thunes
Lion International Bank S.C. (LIB) partners with global cross-border payment provider Thunes to launch a cash pickup service in Ethiopia. Through the partnership, funds recipients can now collect cash from over 260 branches of Lion International Bank across the country.
As of the moment, Thunes facilitates the transfer of remittances to Ethiopia via Hello Cash wallets and bank accounts. Through the partnership, Thunes will expand its offering to include a cash pickup service according to press released shared.
Visa Partners With Bank of Abyssinia
The Bank of Abyssinia (BoA) together with Visa have announced a strategic partnership to drive e-commerce in Ethiopia, by acquiring the CyberSource payment gateway, therefore becoming a member of Visa’s global payments ecosystem.
After struggling for decades, “Ethiopian business owners can now sell their products online” Kennedy Luhombo, Director of Visa with Abyssinia Bank account. Bank of Abyssinia has become the first Bank in Ethiopia to implement a visa cyber-source payment gateway to drive e-commerce acquiring businesses. For more.
CBE to Access DAR’s Database
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia is going to get access to the database of the Federal Documents Authentication and Registration Agency (DARA) according to a report by Addis Insight.
The Bank is expected to have ” a read access privilege over the Agency’s power of attorney database, allowing banks to instantly verify the authenticity of power of attorney documents presented to them in their day to day operations”. For more.
